PillSuite

Recently I was given the opportunity to test out a new product called Pill Suite. I was excited as it was a new way to contain my daily prescriptions and vitamins. I have been given this product as part of a product review through the Chronic Illness Bloggers network. Although the product was a gift, all opinions in this review remain my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.

Pill Suite comes with 400 biodegradable pill bags with writable label areas, the pill sorter with easy bag filling spout, & the sealer with 4 AA batteries. When it arrived it was a smaller package than I had expected, but with easy to read instructions on the outside out of the box as well as an instruction manual, I was visually impressed. Overall I give the Pill Suite a 5 * Review!

As you can see by the photo to the left I am used to using the standard plastic, week at a time sorters. As there are many mornings when I forget to take my prescriptions and vitamins, I can see how having a quick grab-and-go mini bag would be good to carry with me to work, for the mornings that I do forget.

Now as I said at the beginning of this post, I was excited to try out this newest product. After loading the batteries and reading through the manual I figured I was ready to go. My first five attempts to seal one of the bags all failed. So I took the batteries out made sure I had them in right, and tried again. Now we were cooking with bacon grease!

Okay so this was a minor learning curve, no big deal. In sorting my vitamins and filling the bags, there were no issues. Even with the lack of coordination I have with my hands, this was a gentle ease. So unfortunately I was able to give my Pill Suite unit a strong and serious workout as my Father in law ended up in the hospital, so the wife and I had an unexpected trip coming up. Fortunate in that I got a full experience for two weeks of pills for two people…

So I have all our vitamins ready, and it’s time to start actually sealing. Overall the unit itself is fairly easyPill Suite to use, but not something I would use every week. Out of the 14 day supply for both of us, only 3 of the 66 bags did not seal the first time, but sealed when tried again.

Now while we were on this trip, we found that pill suite bags worked great in my wife’s purse, however in a pants pocket, they tended to unseal or open upon their own. Also, as we had all our bags in one container, it was hard to tell with the fibro fog, if we had taken our AM, or PM vitamins that day. In the future, we will be dating them at least with the day of the week, which is a suggestion to anyone with memory or brain fog issues.

With that said, going on a weekend vacation, or a longer vacation I can definitely see using the Pill Suite sealed bags, as it was a lot easier then carrying multiple bottles, and plastic pill containers that can pop open during travel.

With the write on labels, and the easy to open perforated tear strip, for someone who travels a lot I would say it is worth the $29.95, especially as each unit comes with a one-year warranty.
